Hi Fusion Friends! Kelly here, with the results of challenge #18. What a wonderful selection of cards in the gallery! It was so fun to see the different ways people were inspired by the photo and/or sketch. AND, I'm not gonna lie, I've been nervous all week knowing that I was going to have to make some very difficult decisions here.
The SKETCH was the most successful element of this week's challenge experiment ...
Congratulations, ALYSSA!
There is just so much to gush over with this beauty. I really love how Alyssa turned the sketch on its side for her design (many of you came up with this trick too). But instead of going with the chunky banners, the thin arrows she picked give the design a lot of breathing space. Bonus that they also relate to the circular element and create a complete scene. The dots, sequins, and heart give the card a trendy, whimsical feel. AND, the gradient color background is so very fun.
You should check out her blog post, as there are TWO other cards waiting for you there. She made cards based on the photo, the sketch, and a fusion. What a treat! Wonderful job, Alyssa. So glad to see your work here.
Please feel free to grab the Fusion Master badge below to display on your blog!
Don't you just think "ahhh" when you look at Leigh's soft, soothing card? The aqua paired with a healthy dose of black (did you notice that from the inspiration photo?) is such a wonderful combination. Then she added a tiny touch of red for interest and an effective focal point. Gorgeous!
Karen
This card is all about the DETAILS. From the very start, Karen focused on a small detail in one of the cups for her inspiration. Then take a look at her flowers. Do you see the blue circle behind them? So in love with that! Such a nice glow it gives. And the flower centers ... the two layered punches topped with an enamel dot are just perfect!
I would be remiss if I also didn't point out how resourceful she was in making her own digital leaves. Wonderful, Karen!
The story this card tells is wonderful in its simplicity. You read "dream" and then see the washi tape with all the tiny colors, shapes and patterns. It really looks like how a dream feels ... random bits and elements that don't necessarily fit together, but as a whole make up an event. Plus, it's just one heck of a well-designed card!
Thanks so much for your inspiration!
Our new EXPERIMENT will begin at 12 noon EST today.
Hope to see you all there!
